EVENT FAQS
1. Can I host a group event at The Cut Axe Throwing in College Station?
Yes — The Cut hosts group events of all kinds at our axe and knife throwing bar in College Station, Texas. We're located at 1601 Texas Avenue South, just minutes from the Texas A&M campus, and we've hosted everything from Aggie graduation parties to corporate team building events. Reach out to book your group at thecutaxethrowing.com or call 979-350-0014.
2. What types of group events does The Cut host?
We host bachelor parties, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, corporate team building events, graduation celebrations, holiday parties, fundraisers, sorority and fraternity socials, and just-because get-togethers. Whether you're throwing for two or twenty, axe and knife throwing is one of the most fun group activities in the Bryan–College Station area.
3. How many people can I bring to a group event at The Cut?
We can accommodate groups from [INSERT MINIMUM] to [INSERT MAXIMUM] people. For the best experience, we recommend 10 throwers per lane so everyone gets plenty of throwing time. Larger groups can be split across multiple lanes — just tell us your headcount when you book and we'll set you up.
4. How much does a group event cost at The Cut?
Group events at The Cut start around $24.99 / person. We also offer custom packages for larger corporate events, student orgs, and organizations looking to host charity events. Final pricing depends on group size and add-ons. Get a quick quote here or call 979-350-0014.
5. What's included in a group event package?
Every group event includes professional coaching, full safety briefing, target practice, and tournament-style competition. Add-ons like food platters, drink packages, custom targets, party host are available for an extra fee. We handle the setup so your group just shows up and throws.
6. Is axe throwing safe for groups and first-time throwers?
Yes. Every group event at The Cut starts with a full safety briefing from one of our trained coaches, and a coach stays with your lane to teach proper technique and keep things safe. Most of our guests have never thrown an axe before — by the end of the session, you'll be hitting bullseyes. Closed-toe shoes are required for all throwers.
7. What's the minimum age to throw axes at The Cut?
Throwers must be at least 10 years old, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Our bar service is 21+, but the throwing experience itself is open to a wide age range, which makes us a great fit for family birthday parties and multi-generational groups in College Station and Bryan.
8. Do I need to make a reservation for my group?
Yes. Group events at The Cut require an advance reservation so we can dedicate the right number of lanes and coaches to your party. We recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance for weekends and 4 weeks in advance for peak times like Aggie home game weekends, finals week, and the December holidays. Book online at thecutaxethrowing.com.
9. Can I bring outside food, a cake, or decorations to my event?
Yes, you're welcome to bring a birthday cake, cupcakes, or store-bought desserts. Outside meals are not permitted because we serve our own snack menu, but we can recommend caterers for larger groups. We also allow tasteful decorations on your reserved area — just no glitter, confetti, or anything that requires drilling or taping into the walls.
10. Do you serve food and drinks at group events?
Yes. The Cut has a full bar and snack menu — local craft beer from Blackwater Draw, Wildflyer mead, signature tiki cocktails like the Long Handled Axe Tea and Sawdust & Sass, and snacks ranging from cafe pretzels to cheesecake bites. View the full menu at thecutaxethrowing.com/menu. We offer drink and snack packages for groups — ask when you book.
11. How long does a group event last?
Most group events at The Cut run 2 hours and 30 minutes with 2 hours of active throwing time, plus time before and after for food, drinks, and hanging out. Larger groups or tournament-style formats may run longer. Tell us your group size and we'll recommend the right duration.
12. What should we wear to a group event?
Closed-toe shoes are required for all throwers — no sandals, flip-flops, or open-toe heels. Beyond that, wear whatever you're comfortable in. Most of our guests wear jeans or athletic wear. If your group has a theme (matching shirts for a bachelorette, ugly sweaters for a holiday party, jerseys for a tailgate-themed event), go for it — we love it.
13. Do you offer private lanes or a private room for our group?
Yes, we offer private lane reservations for groups of 2 or more, and our full venue can be reserved for events of 11 to 300 guests on weeknights. Private bookings give you exclusive use of your area, dedicated coaching, and the ability to bring custom decorations or run your own format like brackets or a tournament.
14. Is The Cut a good venue for corporate team building?
Yes — and Aggie companies love us for it. Axe throwing is one of the most effective team-building activities because it's competitive, beginner-friendly, and gets people out of conference rooms. We host corporate events ranging from small office happy hours to full-company offsites, and we can tailor the format (tournaments, mixers, leadership challenges) to your goals. Email us at info@thecutaxethrowing.com for a corporate quote.
15. How close is The Cut to Texas A&M University?
The Cut is located at 1601 Texas Avenue South in College Station — about 30 seconds from the Texas A&M campus by car. We're a popular spot for Aggie graduation parties, formals, away-game watch events, and post-football celebrations. Free parking on site.
16. Do you require a deposit for group bookings?
Yes, group reservations require a 30% deposit to hold your date, with the balance due the day of the event. Cancellations made 14 days or more in advance are fully refundable. We'll send a confirmation and invoice as soon as your date is reserved.
17. Can we host a bachelor or bachelorette party at The Cut?
Absolutely — bachelor and bachelorette parties are some of our favorite events to host. Axe throwing photographs incredibly well (your party will leave with content for days), and the vibe is high-energy, drinks-in-hand, lots of cheering. Add a drink package, customize a target with the bride or groom's face, and plan to spend a couple hours making memories. Book at thecutaxethrowing.com.
