HOW A RESERVATION WORKS

  • Checking in at The Cut is easy. Sign your waiver, make sure everyone is wearing closed-toed shoes. Axe Throwing & Parties in College Station.

    Step 1: Check & Waiver

    Guests should arrive ~5 or 10 minutes early to check-in and sign our waiver. Returning guests and members do not need to sign every visit.

    If you’re running late or need to reschedule your appointment, give us a call!

  • The Cut Axe Throwing has some of the best axe throwing coaches in the world, right here in College Station. We teach our customers how to throw safely and accurately. And we show them a darn good time while they do it.

    Step 2: Arena Assignment & Training

    A throwing coach will take you to your assigned arena and review the rules for throwing.

    Arenas are assigned based on the number of people in the party and the duration of the reservation. Parties of 2 to 4 are given at least 1 hour of throwing, 5 to 7 1.5 hours, and 8 to 10 people 2 hours.

    Step 3: Order Some Drinks & Snacks

    Take a moment to order your drinks and snacks from your coach.

    The Cut has a full bar, local craft beer and meads, tiki cocktails, tasty unlimited sodas and dirty sodas, and a long list of air-friend snacks to satisfy you hunger and thirst.

    Step 4: Kick Some Axe in Match Play

    The Cut is a competitive axe and knife throwing bar and event space. We teach the sports of axe and knife throwing following the International Axe Throwing Federation (IATF)’s ruleset. It’s fun. Think corn hole but with axes.

    YOUR GOAL: Make the wall. If you hit a score of 45 or higher during match play you get to sign the wall and leave your mark as a legend of The Cut.

    We also have additional games, including Axe Hole, Stick Axe Toe (tic tac toe with sharp stuff), and more. Guests are welcome to play all games.

  • The Cut has more than just axe throwing - with knife throwing, ninja stars, and custom throwers. Are you good enough to learn them all?

    Step 5: Try Some New Gear & Games

    Once you’ve completed all your matches - or your just want to change things up - we’ll share some new throwing implements like Ninja Stars, Custom Throwers, Knives, and Shovel Heads.

    What you get to throw is purely at the discretion your coach. If you listen well and throw well, we’ll show you the world.

FIRST TIME THROWER FAQS

  • Nope — most of our guests haven't. Every session starts with free coaching from a pro who teaches you the grip, the stance, and the throw from scratch. Most people are sticking the board within the first few minutes, and plenty land a bullseye on their very first try. No experience, no problem.

  • Closed-toe shoes are required for everyone who throws — no sandals, flip-flops, or open-toe heels (it's a sharp-objects-on-the-floor thing). Beyond that, wear whatever you're comfortable moving in. Jeans, athletic wear, a costume for the bachelorette — all good.

  • You can throw axes at 10 and up. Ninja stars start at 6, so younger kids can get in on the fun too. Anyone under 18 just needs a parent or guardian with them. (Our bar is 21+, but the throwing is for a wide range of ages — which makes us a great pick for family birthdays and mixed-age groups.)

  • Plan on 1 to 2 hours, depending on your group size. That's plenty of time to learn, warm up, play a few throwing games, and then hang out with cornhole, foosball, ping pong, and darts when you're done. No one's rushing you out.

  • Every session begins with axes and ninja stars. Throw well enough and your coach starts breaking out the fun stuff — shovels, knives, and other custom throwers. You'll also play games like Axehole (cornhole, but edgier) and Stick Tac Toe.

  • Yes. You throw one at a time in your own private arena, a trained coach stays with your group the whole time, and we start with a full safety rundown. It's a lot more controlled than it looks — and a lot more fun than it sounds. It’s also statistically safer than bowling or mini golf. Think about that. No one has ever been injured at The Cut! Don’t be the first!

  • Walk-ins are welcome when we have space, but a reservation is free and guarantees your arena — so we recommend booking ahead, especially on weekends. Reserve now, pay after (we can even split payments at the venue). And MEMBERS can throw anytime they want with our unlimited throwing packages.

  • Throwing starts at $24.99 per person for Just Throw, $28.99 with a drink (Throw & Sip), or $34.99 with a drink and a snack (Throw & Sip & Snack). Students, first responders, and military get $5 off every session — just bring your ID. Memberships start at just $24.99 / month for Locals and include unlimited throwing.
