The Cut Axe Throwing Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 6, 2026

The Short Version

We're an axe and knife throwing bar in College Station, Texas. To run our business, we collect a small amount of information about you when you book a session, sign a waiver, or sign up for our emails and texts. We use it to do the things you'd expect — confirm your booking, keep you safe, send you the deal you signed up for, and get better at running our website and ads.

We don't sell your personal information. We don't share it with anyone outside of the companies that help us run the business (booking, payments, marketing, analytics). You can opt out of our marketing anytime. If you live in California, Texas, or somewhere else with privacy rights, you have specific options spelled out below.

If you'd rather just talk to a human about any of this, email info@thecutaxethrowing.com.

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to The Cut Axe Throwing ("The Cut," "we," "us," or "our"), operating thecutaxethrowing.com (the "Site") and our physical location in College Station, Texas.

This policy covers information we collect through our Site and any digital tools we use to run our business — including online bookings, digital waivers, and our email and text message lists.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Give Us Directly

When you book a session, sign a waiver, sign up for marketing, or contact us, you might give us:

Your name

Email address

Phone number

Mailing or billing address

Date of birth (to confirm you're 18 or older)

Booking details (date, time, group size, party type, special requests)

IP address and approximate location (city/region level)

Device and browser type

Pages you visit, how you got there, how long you stayed

Referring websites and search terms

Click and scroll behavior

Cookie identifiers and similar tracking IDs

We use this information through:

Google Analytics — to understand how people use the Site

Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) — to measure ad performance and show you our ads on Facebook and Instagram

Google Ads conversion tracking — to measure the performance of our Google ads

You can opt out of most of this. See Section 6 (Cookies and Tracking).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Confirm, manage, and remind you about your bookings

Process payments and refunds

Verify your age and store your signed waiver (we are required to keep waivers on file)

Send you the marketing emails and texts you signed up for

Respond to your questions, complaints, and requests

Run our website, troubleshoot problems, and keep it secure

Measure how our ads are performing and show you ads that are actually relevant to you

Comply with the law (taxes, insurance, liability records, etc.)

Protect our staff, our customers, and our business

We do not use your information to make decisions about you using artificial intelligence in any way that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Text Messages (SMS) — Important

If you opt in to text messages from The Cut, here's the deal:

What you'll get: Booking confirmations, reminders, and (if you opted in to marketing) promotions, event invites, and special offers.

How often: Message frequency varies. We're not going to spam you.

Cost: Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier.

How to stop: Reply STOP to any text to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for help. You can also email us at info@thecutaxethrowing.com.

Carriers: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

By opting in, you agree to receive automated text messages from The Cut at the phone number you provided. Your consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of any purchase. Your phone number and consent records are stored securely and are not shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

A "cookie" is a small file that a website puts on your device to remember things about you. We use cookies and similar technologies for three reasons:

To make the Site work (essential cookies — for example, remembering what's in your booking cart).

To understand how the Site is used (analytics cookies via Google Analytics).

To measure and improve our advertising (marketing cookies via Meta Pixel and Google Ads).

How to Control Cookies

Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Check your browser's Help menu.

Google Analytics opt-out: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ads: Adjust your ad preferences at facebook.com/ads/preferences and instagram.com/accounts/privacy_and_security.

Google Ads: Manage your ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.

Industry opt-outs: Visit optout.aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu to opt out of many third-party advertising cookies at once.

Some parts of the Site may not work properly if you block all cookies.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no industry-wide standard for how to handle these signals, so our Site does not currently respond to them.

6. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal information.

We share your information only with the companies and people who help us run our business, and only as needed for them to do their job:

Booking and reservations platform — to manage your bookings and waitlists

Payment processor (Square) — to process your payments securely

Waiver platform — to capture and store your signed liability waiver

Email and SMS marketing platform (GoHighLevel) — to send the messages you signed up for

Website host (Squarespace) — to host the Site

Analytics and advertising providers (Google, Meta) — as described in Sections 2 and 5

Accounting and tax providers (QuickBooks) — to keep our books and pay our taxes

Lawyers, accountants, and insurance providers — when needed to protect our business or comply with the law

Government and law enforcement — when we are legally required to share information

If The Cut is ever sold, merged, or restructured, your information may transfer to the new owner as part of that transaction.

7. How We Protect Your Information

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information — including encryption in transit, restricted access to staff who need it, and trusted vendors who follow industry security standards.

That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We can't guarantee absolute security. If we ever experience a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

8. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the reasons described in this policy, or as required by law:

Booking and customer records: Typically up to 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.

Liability waivers: As long as required by Texas law and our insurance carrier (typically several years past your last visit).

Marketing list information: Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Website analytics: As determined by Google Analytics retention settings (typically 14–26 months).

When we no longer need your information, we delete it or anonymize it.
